Timeline?

General — walterj 3:24 pm

Below is the USDA’s schedule as outlined in the Draft Strategic Plan and Draft Program Standards on April 25, 2005. Currently NAIS is voluntary in most states although Texas and Wisconsin have already made the Premise ID portion mandatory with huge fines for non-compliance. NAIS is being put in place, as we speak, without our votes. The USDA’s plan is that NAIS will be mandatory for all farms and homes with any of the designated livestock. Note that the USDA and states can advance the plan faster than this timetable at their whim.

Timeline Facts

Beginning in 2002 - Using the 9/11 terrorist scare and the threat of BSE (mad cow disease) the USDA lobbied for more control and power.

April 2005 - USDA issued “Draft Strategic Plan and Draft Program Standards” for public comment. The public comment period for those documents ended in early July 2005. Virtually nobody in the “public” knew about the comment period or NAIS at this point. The USDA and its big stakeholders (Big Agri-Biz) have kept it all very hush-hush so that people would not resist this usurpation of private property and rights.

January 2006 - NAIS based rules implemented in Texas and Wisconsin. no exceptions. Later Texas backs down due to strong grass roots opposition.

April 2006 - USDA releases updated document saying NAIS will be voluntary for now if we are good and all signup. See Mafia Style “Voluntary” article. Required compliance level looks to be 100% - see page 3 of April 2006 USDA document.

June 2006 - USDA releases “Guide to Small Non-Commercial Producers” which appears to be an attempt to reassure homesteaders. I feel ill.

July 2006 - USDA to issue rules setting forth the requirements for NAIS premises registration, animal identification, and animal tracking. This is a crucial time for consumers, homesteaders, pet owners and small farmers who will be harmed by NAIS. There will be a limited public comment period after publication of the rules, and objections expressed in the public comments may persuade the USDA to modify, or abandon, some requirements. Mark your calendars and start taking action now! Cancelled by the USDA - See this article.

July 1, 2006 - Premises registration will be compulsory in Texas Postponed by Texas due to strong opposition by small farmers and homesteaders at TAHC meetings.

Fall 2007 - USDA to publish final rules of mandatory NAIS.

January 2008 - Premise ID and Animal ID become mandatory nationwide. It is already mandatory in some states, including Wisconsin and Texas starting January 2006. USDA backs off of mandatory due to massive grassroots opposition.

January 1st, 2009 - Animal tracking, logging and reporting components of NAIS become mandatory. Strict enforcement, fines, inspections of properties and confiscation of livestock can be done by the USDA or state government without trial or legal hearings. Since mandatory Premise ID and Animal ID were put on hold the Animal Tracking component of NAIS is not implemented. The Monstersanto’s representative from Connecticut is upset.

January 2nd, 2009 - U.S.A. christens the rise of the new Nazi era because Republicans, Democrats and Independents failed to stand up for their rights while they still could. All food production is controlled by the Govi-Corp conglomerate and pets are outlawed. Our Bill of Rights is retired and burned for kindling. The US Constitution is rewritten giving hereditary power to the Presidency under the Patriot Act. Voting is abolished and Congress is disbanded.

April 2009 - New head of the USDA, Secretary Tom Vilsack, initiates Listening sessions to get more feedback from more than just the big producers. Send him your comments. Now is your time to be heard.

  1. Correction - the premises registration is not mandatory in Texas until 1 July 2006. See http://www.tahc.state.tx.us/animal_id/2005Dec_Animal_ID_FactSheet.pdf.
Also note that the currently proposed regulation is open for comment through 6 Feb. See http://www.tahc.state.tx.us/animal_id/index.shtml#proposed.

  3. I grew up on a farm. My parents grew up on a farm (same one for my dad.) My grandparents bought the farm. Now the governors are telling us they are going to start running oar farms? They don’t know how to run the frikin government how do they expect to run a farm. I am going to ask all the candidates for office this year where they stand on NAIS and if they are pro then I’m anti them. I am only voting for canidates taht will stand up for our freedoms.

  6. PLEASE! Everyone get involved! I never wanted to be an activist but this is sooo important! Here in Hawaii no one has heard of the NAIS. People don’t believe me when I tell them about this “program”.
I printed out handouts, and posters, bought bumper stickers, magnets and shirts and have tryed to get the word out.
I am a pre-vet student at the UH here and fellow students have begun writing letters to everyone whose address I can come up with.
I passed out handouts at out earth day fair on campus and got to speak with a couple of our local representatives who (of course) hadn’t heard of the NAIS. My husband also is putting up posters at the local feeds and has a stack of hand outs at the medical office he works at. I can olny hope that the ball is rolling here.
Hawaii Island has a huge number of backyard farms and I can only imagine what it would do to our economy and way of life if NAIS were implmented. Shannon

  7. Arlene,
Thanks you getting back with me…
I too, have come up against many, many people, of all types, even with animals and birds that will be affected by NAIS, and they “just blow it off.”

Some are so nieve to even think, “chipping” animals is great, because they have been lead to believe the animals, birds, etc. will be returned “home” to their owners when the “chips” are “read” by Our Government!!!

Boy has Uncle Sam, done a good job in propaganda!

Well, when I found out about NAIS, by shear accident, over hearing someone mention the term, I went home, looked it up on the Internet, and just about fell over dead, right there..

    I say:
and you can take it to the bank, or not….

God has allowed a “few” of his listener’s (noNAIS’ers) to Awaken to this threat of NAIS.

That’s the best way I can say it….

For the most part, the entire United State’s people are so busy trying to find a way to keep going, because of hard times, that they “don’t even” pay attention, nor do they want to invest any more time, in it’s cause..of FREEDOM!

Also Uncle Sam, the (Nazi-like past returning), have become so entrenched into

“getting away with what they can, and lying to US all”

that it has become “commonplace” and “politically correct” to remain “one of the boys.” (to include those political girls as well, mind you). Hillary Clinton AND Condalesca Rice for 1 and 2..

Look, to put it in a “nutshell” this is BIGGER than politics…

    This is Biblical,

End of times scenario beginning to happen in OUR day and age.”

It does not take a “race horse” to figure out that something “BAD”, is just over the horizon, and God help us all, “We the People” had better wake up, and get involved, because, one day, in OUR Lifetime, “WE” are all going to have to make the choice of the “Mark of the Beast.”

And when that day arrives…It is too late to FIGHT! It’s Over!

Choose which side you may, heaven or hell.

I do not even attend church, and I figured it out!

There are but a Few who are called upon, backed up by Angel’s,

that will be asked to go forth and tell the world, what is about to befall them…

“NAIS is Coming.” Paul Revere is:

http://nonais.org/ and instead of a “horse” we are riding the “wave” of the Internet.

NAIS is “one issue” that will effect the outcome, and time table, when the End is Near.

I choose to FIGHT, now, and “believe” this is at the request of a “higher” calling.

There for, I will not be lead astray or stopped in my endeavor of NoNAIS, no matter what the barrier(S) USDA, or people too busy to care, will say or do.

If I and “We” fail, to stop NAIS…No Matter.. I will NOT stop, even then…

I will Never accept the “mark of the beast” to be put on my animals, nor myself.

If that causes me, to “die” for lack of food, or whatever, so be it.

I would rather “DIE, trying” to keep my FREEDOM, I have, and shall retain, rather,

than walk into a “Gas” chamber called NAIS, by the NAZI-like Government, Agri-Biz, Govi-Biz, or the like.

It’s BETTER to Live as a Free Person, and Die “Honorable” to Our God, than to “cow-tow” to mere MAN, who will oppress YOU, your family, and YOUR ANIMALS.

I say: “I am no hero, but by my Faith will I Die, FIGHTING for “my” Freedom, and for that of my “family,” of animals, which,
    I LOVE!

I will continue to spread the “word” of NoNAIS, no matter what the obstacle, to include the United States Government,

in which I “served in the U.S. Air Force, with Honor, for 10 years.

  8. Once you have written as many law makers as you can both state and federal and have alerted your neighbors or anyone you think may get involved, how do I keep this issue alive? Whats next?

    Comment sharon mehler — April 29, 2006 @ 5:07 pm

  9. Keep spreading the word to other people, hang posters, contacting the media, another round of letters to lawmakers, keep an eye out for hearings and attend them… It will take ongoing maintenance. There is an upcoming Egg Day, details soon. Some people are also working on state and nationwide protests.

    Comment walterj — April 29, 2006 @ 5:24 pm

  10. Everyone, I have been contacting world media, and other countries, media, and providing them with NoNAIS articles, requesting they publish them, to the world…

The Internet, is “We the People’s” last outpost to liberty in this country..

  11. Well what I want to know is how this is going to be enforced. You can bet if they even try to enforce it all kinds of taxes are going to go up so they can afford to do it.

You know they don’t care if they ruin the country, they just want to be in control, and in power.

I haven’t seen that writing letters did much of anything in this country as far as stopping things when the government gets really set on something (especially something well funded which NAIS must be or where would it even come from?) Now I don’t know all the facts but I think something more effective needs to happen.

    Comment Anna Dunster — June 15, 2006 @ 8:04 pm

  12. hm.

IIRC, stalin, marx, and others such like demanded that animals be registered with the state…thus making livestock liable to government-seizure.

    no way; no how.

  13. My plan is to just say no to NAIS. I’m not going to play their game. If everyone would take the same stand, their (the NAIS) little house of cards will come tumbling down on them and the problem will go away. Writing letters and such is fine. But nothing will speak louder than ‘in their face’ non-participation in this so-called MANDATORY program. Just stand up and say NO! when the time comes. We’re American’s, aren’t we? Then lets act like it.

    Comment Max in Arkansas — August 4, 2007 @ 1:22 pm

  14. Max, I like your plan.

I’d still encourage people to write letters, talk to your
legislators, pin up flyers and generally educate the masses.

However a well aimed cow pie can usually get the point across too, uh or so I’ve heard!

    Thank you
