R-CALF, the association of independent beef producers, has increased it’s resistance to the USDA’s proposed National Animal Identification System with the 2007 resolutions that opposes funding of mandatory premises identification and opposes forcing kids into NAIS via FFA and 4-H. One more step back from the edge.

There is one organization that is membership driven, fights for membership, with membership voting on these provisions right now I am the membership Chair for Oklahoma and also head up the Oklahoma Legislative Committee with some great help from R-Calf Oklahoma members so very active and making a difference. You know I will not work with anything that is not nonais, does not represent the sovereignty of my United States Constitution and Nation or is not membership driven. Here is what we got in convention to present to members voting on right now. Every bit of my time and efforts are donated by the way as are the other R-Calf members.
membership proposals from convention which is there for anyone to read.
R-Calf does not kiss USDA Inc. Butt, is not affiliated with Multi National Corporations and does not represent anyone but membership which means packers don’t own us. The membership fees per year are $50.00 and two kinds of membership. Those who own at least one calf or cow have a vote. One vote per member regardless of size of operation. Associate members are consumers who want clean, USA grown foods, mom and pop business like locally grown stands, home town businesses, feed stores, grooming or shoeing business, trailer makers or sellers, truckers, but don’t own even one calf but have a vested interest in the legislation and rules both domestically and internationally that control our food supply and growers. Here is application link
application link We have few paid employees with most of us volunteering and we have been swamped with applications since the 2007 proposals came out so please be patient if you join and please let me know you did join off list karber@pldi.net or to ask more questions. We are supporting Darol and the Oklahoma vet that was fined for a cow they had no problem on paper work but USDA wanted numbers never even looked at the cow or calf just jack booted them because the cow had a name not a number which is perfectly legal on the registry. The R-Calf stance on nais is also linked on Darol’s site on the left hand side bar but the link I gave is all the legislation R-Calf has already submitted and working on in Washington with more to come and we need people, real people, dogging their legislators and ag committees both in their states and in Washington to get it passed. Remember whatever happens with cattle will happen to the one cow or chicken owner. R-Calf is working for us all especially the consumer which is the real looser if we have nothing but Factory Farms.

Sue, what about folks who may own a cow or calf one week but sell and then buy another next week, in other words wouln’t nessessarily have a cow/calf on any given day of the week/month but would like to be a voting member?
Comment LEE — April 10, 2007 @ 5:16 pm
They vote. They understand cattle whereas those who do not own a cow any part of a year do not have a vote.

I’m glad to see that this whole thing is getting so much resistance from farmers. I just wish my fellow city folk would get the message. When I try to explain they just look at me strange like their thinking she’s gone over the edge. They don’t believe the government would do anything bad to them and they are scared of germs.

Vicky, hang loose we have some great news how to reach these city folks coming soon they will believe in dvd form. Then it will be where they can get their voice heard by backing legislation already in Congress to get thing done and done right for United States of America’s consumers and those of us in Agriculture. Tell everyone to keep up with NONAIS.org so that they can be get the message out when it hits real soon.

The awaited DVD on Woodward, Oklahoma R-Calf Premise ID and Animal ID Meeting is ready to send out. Dr. Max Thornsberry R-Calf USA President http://www.r-calfusa.com gives an outstanding easy to follow overview of the whole Program from a producer and Veterinarian’s point of view….and Harlan Hentges Property Rights Attorney with Agriculture Degree out did himself with the Big Picture of Agriculture. You will find yourself Cheering Hentges summary of his presentation. This is a valuable tool to do in home education of the subject of NAIS and a great introduction to R-Calf USA who is really representing the independent producers of United States of America. We are suggesting a donation which is not tax deductible of $10.00 for the DVD. We can make a few copies available on VHS but the DVDs play on most computers and all DVD players. We hope to have the DVD up on UTube and audio on MP3 in a week or so to easily refer consumers and others interested in NONAIS. Once you see it you will want a copy in high quality.
HOW TO ORDER DVD’s link Grissom Production
My cousin is processing credit card orders for us and absorbing the cost of processing as their donation to getting this dvd out. Don will look into paypal next week he is on assignment in Washington this week.
Don Grissom is the professional who has donated unbelievable amounts of time to this project and is making the labor of love NAIS documentary we hope to have out soon. All efforts, equipment, monies are donated on my part completely. All proceeds will go to R-Calf as donation. Communications costs big money and R-Calf has the best message out there in my opinion and I want to help promote it. Consumers can be a big help by backing the independent and self use producers by backing R-Calf USA policies without joining R-Calf but for those of you that do own animals R-Calf is the best friend we have in fighting Multi National Corporations and Bias USDA policies and mandates. R-Calf has fought and will continue to fight for the Independent Producers and Family Farms. R-Calf has taken on the USDA and continues to do so for all of us.
