Four Mad Cows

News — walterj 3:33 am

Four mad cows. Four Mad Cows.
See how they stagger. See how they stagger.
They all ran after the farmer’s wife,
Who cut off their tags with a carving knife.
Did you ever see such a waste in your life.
As the mess of NAIS?
-T. Fable

The USDA and states have been using Mad Cow Disease (BSE) as one of their scare mongering tactics to justify the USDA’s proposed National Animal Identification System (NAIS). They like to say that if they had NAIS in place then they would have been able to trace-back the mad cow in Alabama within 48 hours. Of course this belies the whole issue that trace-back on BSE is pointless since this is a diseased caused by feeding cows to cows and is not contagious between cows.

Friday we got this sound bite from the USDA:

Only four to seven cows in America are likely to have mad cow disease, according to Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns. -MSNBC News Services

On Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006 Vermont Secretary of Agriculture Steve Kerr testified before the House Agriculture Committee that Premises ID will not help with BSE.

The FDA has stated that we do not need any additional programs for the prevention of BSE.

Q: Are the protective measures in place sufficient to ensure the safety of the human food supply in light of the June 2005 BSE positive cow?

A: Yes, the protective measures put into place in July 2004 by FDA ensure that cattle materials that carry the highest risk of transmitting the agent that causes BSE are excluded from human food, including dietary supplements, and cosmetics. These measures, along with similar measures established by USDA, provide a uniform national BSE policy and ensure the safety of human food.

The USDA says farmers and processors (butchers) may not legally test for BSE because it isn’t necessary.

BSE is caused by feeding ruminants (cows, sheep, goats) to cow and maybe from feeding humans to cows. You aren’t supposed to do that any more. If the USDA would enforce its ban on these practices that would help. Avoiding eating older cows would help too since you don’t catch BSE from young animals. 30 months is a good cut off both economically, health-wise and by being able to determine the age of the cattle from teeth. BSE isn’t infectious - it’s the food. NAIS isn’t necessary to fight BSE.

So why do they need to use our tax dollars to create an overly complex, Constitutional busting, rights trampling, privacy invading and burdensome system of NAIS? Realize that they are wasting, er, I mean spending, $80,000,000 per year on NAIS - that comes to $11,428,571.42 per infected cow. That does not include the waste at the state level nor does it include the burden imposed on farmers, homesteaders and pet livestock owners.

Data from Australia’s failing version of NAIS put the price at $37 per head. It is even worse for small farmers who may see costs of hundreds of dollars per head according to a beef industry analysis. Multiply $37 per head times 37,000,000 cattle (USDA’s own number) and you’ve got an extra annual cost to the farmers of $1.369 billion. We’re starting to talk serious money.

Guess who will be paying for all of that, one way or another? You.

Now that is enough to make a cow really mad!

Hat tips to Jack, Jill & the broken crown crowd.

  1. Just got done with a *new* 2006 GAO report on RFID-active tag going price is $100 choppers!!! 1/3 of all RFID don’t work or break in-service. Which means if you break down your resistance and comply, your chip breaks, “Oh so sorry” you just broke the law, “Go to jail” do not collect $100, Pay thousands.

  6. Hi there,
Now that the USDA is ‘backing off’ of BSE it does appear to be concentrating on the ‘flu epidemic’. RE: ABC movie of the week on the ‘pandemic’. Just trying to keep us all in the loop of fear! Not US, USDA, we are fighting you and your big business all the way!

  7. I have been pondering the motive behind Agri-Biz and Mad Cow Johanns, stacking the deck on NAIS in favor of:

    1. Agri-Biz get to have a Herd of animals with only 1 ID number, and the unfair disparity of:

    2. Everyone else gets “every” single animal, individually tagged, ID’s and tracked separately on reports. WHY?

Here’s my educated opinion of this, always allegedly of course: Agri-Biz in NAIS, needs the ability “not” to just make the paperwork easier for them, but to “hide” any animals, example: Mad Cow disease, from being detected in AGRI-BIz’s back yard, and divert that Mad Cow, to Traditional Farming to “start” the USDA “Killing Machine” scenerio, officially labeed the “Stamping Out” USDA process, at the individual farm level.

Here is How they will do that:

Since Agri-Biz still feeds ruminants to ruminants, even, thoughn they have switched types of body parts, they allegedly still feed the ruminant chickens to the cows, and they feed the ruminant cows to the chickens, that way it looks better to Japan. But in reality, the Mad Cow will still carry thru.

So when Agriz-Biz, eventually detects a Mad Cow in the 1,000 animal agri-biz herd with a “single” ID number, the Agri-Biz man, calls the Mad Cow, called Johanns, and allegedly, they, in secret combinations, secretly arrange for the “Mad Cow” to be immediately shipped out of the Agri-Biz herd, into the market place, where upon, the undiscovered Cow with Mad Cow disease, ends up in the hands of a homesteader or traditional farmer, or small agri-biz owner.

Then, when the Undiscovered mad cow is at a different location, with of course a replaced tag, as allegedly the original tag was “defective,” since, Mad Cow Johanns, now “knows” the where abouts of that cow, he just happens to run a random ID Cow check, at the new location, and BINGO!

There are signs in a cow, on the traditional farmer’s property showing signs of a pandemic disease.. Oh My god, says Mad Cow Johanns (allegedly) as he initiated the USDA “Kill Machine” which within 48 hours, will begine to “slaughter”, meaning “kill” folks, ALL animals within the 10 kilometer (12 Mile), range of the farm itself. Dogs, cats, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, all of them, get it from the USDA “killing machine.”

And the “stamping out” of the USDA found disease is done, to allegedly Protect You!

Mean while back at the Agri-biz ranch, of Millions of Cows, pened up in filthy conditions (allegedly), the Agri-Biz man, smiles, as he is counting his 1,000 cows, all healthy in the single Herd with “one” ID tracking number, knowing that Agri-Biz, and Govi-Biz, were successful, thwarting a pandemic……

    OF AGRI-BIZ’s Money………

BINGO! Now you know WHY you are getting NAIS, shoved down your throat!

    Right? Congress?

  9. Words of Truth to US all, from on High: Inspired by a 22 year old lady of grace:

After seeing the black government cars blocking my drive to my premise’s, I exerted all my powers to call upon God

to deliver me out of the power of this enemy called the Oppressor,

which had seized upon me, and at that very moment when I was

ready to sink into despair and abandon my animals and myself to destruction

not to an imaginary ruin, but to the power of some actual being from the unseen world

who had such an oppressive power as I had never before felt in any being.

Just at this moment of my great alarm, I saw the pillar of a light,

shed from a single candle sitting on a pillar exactly over my head on a mantle.

The unholy darkness which had befalled me, was immediately at that moment

lifted away from me and my soul, as of this little flame, was as bright as the sun.

The “light” decended all around me and fell upon me

as if an Armanda of Angel’s had entered the my room beaming with God’s grace.

It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy

which held me bound upon my premises, and I gained the strength to fend off

the oppressor, with the Angel’s holding me up on High.

I learned a valuable lesson that day from that flickering “light” of the candle.

The commandments of Men do NOT have any form of Godliness or power

when they deny the power above, thereof ,on “HIGH.”

    God’s Speed, my good People!

Do Not Fear or be afraid to FIGHT NAIS!
