Money talks and it tells an interesting story. Conflicts of interest even. We’re seeing a lot of this although some will tell you it is just par for the course. In case they change the web page to hide the facts, it currently says:
Savi Technology, Inc
Proven RFID Solutions Driving ValueBoard of Directors
:
Tom Ridge
First U.S. Homeland Security Secretary
:
Note that the National Animal Identification System was enabled under the Patriot Act and the department of Homeland Security. So we’ve got the gentleman who gave you NAIS profititing from it. Can you spell conflict of interest? T. O. M. R. I. D. G. E. Ah, I thought you could do that!
In other news, US Secretary of Defense, Donald H. Rumsfeld is the largest shareholder of Gilead Sciences which developed Tamiflu. Tamiflu is a anti-viral drug to which H5N1 (avian bird flu) has already shown resistance. There’s no certainty that Tamiflu will be effective against H5N1 said Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt to Congress recently. The fact that GW Bush has placed an astoundingly massive 61 million dose order for questionable product using yours and my tax dollars is mere cronyism. Not only that but George had us pay full price! Now that is foolish! If you’re going to make a massive order for something don’t you think you should get a bit of a discount? Well not the US Govi-Corp. They are paying full price to a Swiss company so you can’t even say they’re stimulating the local US economy. Just grand. No, wait, it’s not grand, it’s billions.
I suppose I should not be surprised given Enron, the Halliburton Corporation-Dick Cheney (remember, he’s our current VP) and other scandals. It gets worse though, Google REAL ID for some scary stuff. Or watch this little movie or read about it here.
So how does all this relate back to NAIS? Bird flu is being used as one of the excuses for NAIS. The same people who are behind the start of NAIS are getting board of director jobs at big corporations that are profiting from the Patriot Act’s little programs like the USDA’s NAIS. They are going to require us to use RFID and other tagging to track our animals so they will know what we have where. Probably so they can further tax it. The Govi-Corp wants to know where every animal and person is at all times. Guess we’re pretty special. They’re going to tag us along with the national herd. Baaaa…
People need to understand that NAIS is not about disease prevention or food safety. It never was. NAIS has and always will be about profits. NAIS doesn’t even make our food supply safer as a side benefit. Follow the money trail. The big Agri-Biz exporters wanted more profits from the international markets. They need NAIS to get into Japan and other countries. Bird flu is bad, but why pay full price for so many doses of a questionable product like Tamiflu? Perhaps to create a scare that will drive NAIS and at the same time give a nice kickback to some good buddies of King George. The RFID and other tag equipment makers want guaranteed profits through a mandatory system enforced with huge fines of $1,000 per day on small farmers and homesteaders.
Somehow I don’t remember reading anything in our Constitution about guaranteed profits. Pursuit of happiness, yes. Guarantee? No. To make it all happen the current administration is handing all this on a silver platter to their good buddies under the auspices of the Patriot Act which lets them violate the Constitution without legislative review. Hey! I thought the Republicans were the Constitutional Party? Sure, if it helps them make a profit but sorry folks, not today. Realize this is not just a Republican thing. The Democrats play this game too and are just as good at it. Business as usual at Govi-Corp.
This reminds me of a joke: Do you know why nobody has ever tried to assassinate George W. Bush? Because they know Dick Cheney is anxiously waiting, just one step away from the Oval Office…
