NAIS is Contagious

Interestingly enough, it’s Pearl Harbor Day—and so it is for Cattle

Last week I heard from someone who works at several sale barns in the area that one was currently tagging all breeding cows with 840 NAIS tags if they did not have the metal brucellosis tag in their ears. As of January 1st, 2010, they would tag all breeding stock going through the chute with 840 tags regardless of metal bruce tags that were already in the cow’s ear. The word was that this was ’some sale barns’ and ’some veterinarians’.

I’ve spent several days trying to get information and documentation on this, and this morning, our Missouri State veterinarian, Dr. Taylor Woods, was kind enough to call me and explain what is happening in fair detail.

According to Dr. Woods, in March or April of 2009, he received a notice from the USDA stating that in two weeks all federal funding for Brucellosis was to be cut off. This was rather a shock to him and he called and went all the way up to Dr. John Clifford. Clifford told him he should have received a notice regarding this in December of 2008. Dr. Woods told him that this was the first he had heard of it, and went on to ascertain that the reason for failure of notification was because Missouri has been 5 years brucellosis free. Dr. Clifford stated that he would allow funding to continue for Missouri until December 31st, 2009. At that time, all blood testing for brucellosis would cease and all breeding cattle would be identified at the market by the market veterinarian with the 840 tag. The 840 tags are currently provided by the USDA free to the state of Missouri, and will supplant testing and the metal Brucellosis tags at market.

Also, Doctor Woods said that as far as he is aware, this is what is going to happen in every single state. Also, that only Texas and Missouri have been collecting blood and actually testing for Brucellosis. He said that these 840 tags are NOT NAIS tags. Also, notably, that he is rather irritated to see a successful program of Brucellosis eradication going away and relying instead upon a tag that will not detect the disease. It is confirmed via a myriad of sources that there will be no more pulling of blood to check for brucellosis in several states. The USDA Veterinary Services (VS) is doing away with the brucellosis program to bring in the OIE (World Animal Health Organization) standards for trade on Animal Identification, which at the very least, according to the Guidelines of the OIE, will identify an animal back to the farm of origin or ‘premise’. These are the first two prongs of NAIS: premises registration, and animal identification. You cannot have 840 identification without going back to the ‘premises’. Doctor Woods told me that they would be using the sale barns (markets) as the premises. This is NOT supported by any documentation that is available anywhere.

Now, I am completely unable to find any other designation for the 840 tags other than one which links the identified animal back to the NAIS premises of the owner selling the cattle. For cattle, all 840 tags are radio frequency identification, the USDA is allowing 840 non RFID identification for hogs, otherwise all 840 is RFID and all 840 is linked back to the farm of origin or premises.

Again, this is to go into effect in all states beginning on January the 1st, 2010. Doctor Woods was kind enough to assure me that he would be happy to give me whatever correspondence and documentation he could find regarding this. The issue as I see it is that there is not much time at all before January 1st, and I certainly cannot wait the six weeks it took for my last request from the Missouri Department of Agriculture to be fulfilled. The USDA never gives out any information unless you possess the capacity to actually sue them for the information…at least not to the likes of me.

There are several States with statute constraining the implementation of NAIS and premises registration. Missouri is one of those States, and there appears to be a definite conflict here unless the documents can indeed support something other than premises registration under NAIS standards (you can call it what you like, NFAIP, USAIP, NAIS, NLIS, or whatever), this would indeed be construed as mandating or otherwise forcing participation in NAIS or any similar program by the State Veterinarians office and a case of the USDA forcing a State Department to violate statute to continue to participate in interstate commerce. The USDA is in violation of the APA at the very least.

At any rate, I wanted to get this information out despite the lack of paperwork to support this as there are many sources confirming the generalities of this and no one saying that 840 tags will not be used on cattle going through the chutes in the state of Missouri after January 1st, 2010.

When I do get the actual documentation, I will be sending it on to all interested parties. This is trickle down and up NAIS in full effect. 2010 is the year for OIE compliance on animal identification for the USDA. And first they came for the cows……Here they come, folks.

  1. So the future of disease control is not testing for disease, but determining where the animal came from. If it wasn’t for real, it would be laughable.
This also goes along with our gut feeling that NAIS will become mandatory, but they will say it is “market forces”. They just don’t say that they are controlling the market.

  3. West Plains and Cuba Missouri sale barns are putting the 840 tags in.

Ava or Douglas county sale barn says they won’t do anything like that until it is a law.

  4. You may see some Christians practicing jumping up and down…they are getting ready for the Rapture- the signs of the times pointing to Jesus coming soon to take them to heaven all at once. I personally believe He could come anytime, what with NAIS, now the microchip for people in the healthcare bill and myriad other things that are forefold in the book of Revelation (last book in the Bible) about what events would happen in the last days. To be fair, not all Christians believe there will be a rapture, they believe they will have to go through the Tribulation (7 yrs of sheer hell on earth, no one can buy or sell without the “mark”) and that Jesus will come for them at the end of that time. Personally I am neither pre-Trib or post-trib, I am pan-trib (means that it is going to all pan out the way God wants it to!)

  5. All I know is we have entered one of the wierdest periods in history!
We have a regime in office in this nation that almost makes the last one look decent, thats bad!
These people ignore everything except what they want to see and ride rough shod over we the people…healthcare takeover, nonexistant global warming,NAIS,Codex, corporate fascism,GMO…and so much more!!
We have a heck of a fight on our hands to stop all this BS,but we will stop this BS,sure they are powerful and treacherous and willing to sell their own mom into slavery for a bit of imagined control, but bigger and badder(as well as smarter)idiots than these we face presently have gone onto the trash heap of history and so will they!
We hear them talk of Americans being nasty by holding tea parties and town hall meetings trying to petition this govt for redress,we are told to be respectful and obey our leaders, for they know what is best, better than we!
Well, I have to say we are the bosses, these useless sons of pups work for US and we need to fire the lot of them! Its time to inform the arrogant retards that they should be very grateful that we the people have been so very restrained and hope to God that all we do is vote their sorry rearends out of office, and that we havent “enmass” picked up our pitchforks and our guns and a good bunch of rope and hunted their pious and arrogant carcasses down and hanged them from every tree and lampost in this nation, and if they continue to behave like this God only knows it may happen! Folks will and have put up with alot of crap out of this govt and its self important lackeys, more than anybody should, time may run out on these fools…its happened before, read the history…it may happen again, not that Im saying it should, just that these commie SOBs had better get out of Dodge before America wakes up, because we are awake and are waking up others and “soon” govicorp boys there aint gonna be no place for you to hide!
All of you…keep up the good work, we aint lost and we wont!

  7. Re: #4 As I am a Christian and without going into scripture: whenever the rapture occurs, and there are more than one, ones’ soul will simply be snatched out of ones’ body to meet the Lord in the air*, no jumping required:) Nor would jumping help, it’s more of an involuntary thing as a result of a personal commitment proposition.

    * probably like His ascension but more dramatic given the numbers, the simultaneous nature of these events, combined with all the empty suits lying about(I sincerely doubt there will a bloody mess as is popularly portrayed, just empty corpses I expect).

Re: #5 I heard an interesting comment recently LEE. Theoretically, we the people should be in charge except that we vote as individuals instead of as a block. Add to that that we are easily divided, and! the opposition* regularly provides their own controlled opposition in order to ensure their objectives are achieved and it’s the uphill battle we’ve seen before us.

    * those who know best/are not fans of Individualism/who love security more than liberty

If it weren’t for the spiritual answers that make sense of all this, I think I’d need to check myself in somewhere comfy. E.g., I’m involved with loads of politically active, ostensibly liberty loving people whom I concede are both more educated, and more intelligent than myself but even with the road map of the documentation, they don’t see the tyranny bearing down upon us. Or at least they won’t admit to it publicly.

So, they might work for you/us in theory but it’s quite obviously, on the whole, our national politicians and bureaucrats have a decided alternative agenda. Which is all discoverable, except that most humans prefer cognitive dissonance to the plain disturbing facts. Sadly, for all our potential as individuals we’re pretty pathetic as a people.

  9. Yes, it is true that the word rapture is not in the Bible. ( I learned over 30 yrs ago about the mark of the beast being a precursor to the 2nd coming and now learning that NAIS is one of the first programs to require a “mark” and with obamacare health plan’s mention of mandatory microchips in humans is why I am so involved with fighting NAIS.)
But neither will you find the Trinity by name in the Bible, nor the word mission and a number of other terms we use to describe theological concepts clearly taught in Scripture.

  11. Obamacare doesn’t have mandatory microchipping for humans in it. Please don’t spread rumors - that makes everything we say seem unreliable.

    Comment Barbara — December 19, 2009 @ 8:16 pm

  12. to #11—
Is it the word “mandatory” that is the point you are trying to make concerning microchipping in the obama health care encyclopedia as in “chipping humans will NOT be mandatory”?

If so, then why is it mentioned at all? (see below straight from the pages of our new constitutional.)

From Blogsphere: Source Bill H.R. 3200 (America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009)

The Obama Health care bill under Class II (Paragraph 1, Section B) specifically includes ‘‘(ii) a class II device that is implantable.” Then on page 1004 it describes what the term “data” means in paragraph 1, section B:

    (B) In this paragraph, the term ‘data’ refers to in
formation respecting a device described in paragraph (1),
including claims data, patient survey data, standardized
analytic files that allow for the pooling and analysis of
data from disparate data environments, electronic health
records, and any other data deemed appropriate by the
    Secretary”

What exactly is a class II device that is implantable? Lets see…

In Section 2521 of the Bill labeled “National Medical Device Registry”, a class II device is defined as:

“a class II device that is implantable, life-supporting, or life-sustaining. ”
To verify this, open the bill and do a search for “implantable” and you will find the definition above!

Even just as alarming is this phrase below used in conjuction with “Class II” device usage:

“other postmarket device surveillance activities of the Secretary authorized by this chapter”
Furthermore, under this Section 2521, the following is stated in a new topic category:

Electronic Exchange and Use in Certified Electronic Health Records of Unique Device Identifiers-

“The Secretary of the Health Human Services, acting through the head of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, shall adopt standards, implementation specifications, and certification criteria for the electronic exchange and use in certified electronic health records of a unique device identifier for each device described in paragraph (1)”

It is still unclear as to what conditions would apply as to either voluntarily or being required in getting a chip implant.

There are numerous other bills that “supplement” and “support” this main bill. Until those are researched, it will be unknown as to what a slippery slope these chip implants would incur, or if they are simply for effecitve statistical measurements of current or standard implants otherwise (pacemakers etc.)

The fact that freedoms are being pounded on all sides by these people is scary, and they are not listening,at least not the ones in charge.

We have to make sure we have long memories and that we deal with these traitors next fall, they have shown contempt for our constitution and our way of life,we need to make sure they understand they are fired! No more compromise!

There is NO requirement for humans being implanted with microchips in the health care reform bills! The Safe Medical Device Act was passed into law in 1990. ALL this is, is an update to that existing law and it refers to implanted debrillators, pacemakers, etc. It simply ensures timely notification in the case of a recall - that is IT. Would you not want to be notified if a serious problem was discovered with the pacemaker or defibrillator wires in your heart or would you rather just drop dead walking down the street? Relying totally on the manufacturer is a bit like saying you prefer to rely on Monsanto for information about seeds! Reality is these manufacturers do “outsource” some of the parts for these life saving devices. Do I wish all medical device manufacturers were above board? You bet I do but reality is they are not.
People have become so paranoid because of NAIS that they are misinterpreting this piece of the health care reform legistation.
Please, we must be careful what information we pass around lest we be painted with the “misinformation” brush again.
I am a Critical Care nurse who works with these devices. I have worked with this law since it was enacted so I know why it was created and what it’s intent is very well.

This is an good discussion of the issue:

If NAIS is mandated the executive branch will be facing the same question regarding the constitutional authority to force the purchase of services from a private company.

    Comment Ann — December 24, 2009 @ 9:11 am

  19. An implantable device MAY BE as you said— for the tracking of working/non-working heart devices BUT I am “paranoid” for a reason. Who says that the words “implantable device” can’t be interpreted as those in power see fit. Did you notice how our elected offal stayed late to force the passage of the health bill? Even though they know the majority of those who elected them oppose it or want more time to discuss and research it, they completely ignored our wishes. What does that tell you? And after seeing the way things are going I would not call it paranoid. I would call it being smart and watching out that our freedoms are not legislated out from under us. After all would you be paranoid if you heard a ratlesnake hissing in your house? You know it has a purpose in nature but that purpose does not extend to inside your house where it would be dangerous to you! You would hunt it down and get rid of it to protect your family.

    Comment Esbee — December 24, 2009 @ 2:23 pm

  20. There is a difference between not trusting the gov’t and not liking the health care bill, and spreading false information. If you think that implantable devices refers to microchipping humans, then you should qualify your statement by saying that is what you believe it means. To come out and declare that it mandates microchipping is false and will make us look unreliable on our other statements.

    Comment Barbara — December 24, 2009 @ 3:53 pm

  21. Two good articles to read at newswithviews.com One today by Phil Hart has to do with the constitutionality of the healthcare bill…and I also recommend you look up attorney Jonathan Emord (left sidebar) and read his last article re: FDA . You will see parallels to NAIS…

    Comment The Phantom — December 24, 2009 @ 4:56 pm

  22. “Who says that the words “implantable device” can’t be interpreted as those in power see fit.”
This National Device Registry, which has created such hysteria, is nothing more than a clearing house of safety information. It will enhance notification in case of the potential for a serious medical problem or death as a result of an implanted medical device (devices which are well defined).
It does NOT track individual humans nor does it control your CHOICE to get said device or not.
It is safety information ONLY. It also will ensure that such safety information is made available to the public so if enacted, you would be able to look it up yourself.
Which way do you want it? Do you want manufacturers to have to be upfront and honest about safety issues with these devices or do you want them to keep it to themselves until several deaths have been reported?
Furthermore, under the existing law: SEC. 519. [21 USC §360i] Records and Reports on Devices; General Rule
    (2) Any patient receiving a device subject to tracking under paragraph (1) may refuse to release, or refuse permission to release, the patient’s name, address, social security number, or other identifying information for the purpose of tracking.
This language has NOT been changed in the current proposals.
So there you have it. If you don’t want anyone to notify you if the pacemaker or heart valve you had implanted has been discovered to suddenly fail, have at it. It’s still your right to refuse. I hope you see that tiny notice in your newspaper before your pacer stops functioning or your heart valve quits functioning.
And BTW, device tracking simply means tracking safety reports on medical devices. It does not mean tracking YOU personally.
One of the many problems with the 2 massive versions of these bills is that they took existing laws and/or regulations and stuck them in these bills. In many cases changing just an insignificant word. I believe these fools thought this would make them look “all good and all wonderful”. They are so far out of touch with the real world that they had no clue people would read into it.
Remember - every device has a serial number, just as every TV, camera, computer, etc does.
Meanwhile, while people debate something that isn’t even remotely planned, they are shoving through legislation that will cost us all plenty in taxes and most probably higher insurance premiums down the road without making ANY significant reform to our health care system.
