More H1N1/A Vaccine Recalls

News — walterj 1:01 am

Huh?!?

Hundreds of thousands of swine flu shots for children have been recalled because tests indicate the vaccine doses lost some strength, government health officials said Tuesday.

The shots, made by Sanofi Pasteur, were distributed across the country last month and most have already been used, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The 800,000 pre-filled syringes that were recalled are for young children, ages 6 months to nearly 3 years.

Dr. Anne Schuchat, a CDC flu expert, stressed that parents don’t need to do anything or to worry if their child got one - or even two - of the recalled shots. The vaccine is safe and effective, she said.

I repeat that, Huh!?! “Safe and effective?”

How can she say that? They recalled the vaccine because it was not effective. It was not effective because it was not strong enough. Being that it is not strong enough it is not providing an immune response which leaves kids with no protection. Since it was not effective it gives parents a false sense of security. Now all of those 800,000 kids must be revaccinated, once again putting them at risk.

Eat Meat

Background Info — walterj 7:11 am

Rather interesting new scientific note:

“Genetic changes that apparently allow humans to live longer than any other primate may be rooted in a more carnivorous diet.

These changes may also promote brain development and make us less vulnerable to diseases of aging, such as cancer, heart disease and dementia.”
-LiveScience

This is a bit of a refutation to those bleeding heart, and perhaps short lived, anti-meat eating types. Actually, they too benefited from the meat eating of our collective ancestors. These anti-meat types would ban farmers from raising livestock. Most unfortunate since livestock grazing on pasture is the best use of our hilly fields and livestock like chickens and pigs can take the waste from a farm, such as crop gleanings and milk or whey not fit for human consumption, and turn it into high quality meat.

The reality is eating meat is perfectly natural and has helped us with the evolution of not just our brains but our longer lives that allow us to better use our brains. Eating meat is part of nature. Wolves eat meat. Cats eat meat. Bears eat meat. Ferrets eat meat. Humans eat meat. Preferably you will eat pasture raised meat. We farm sunshine which grows grasses and legumes that our animals turn into high quality meat and lipids. Meat is good for you and part of a balanced diet. Eat meat and be thankful.
