Donna,
Hospitals are required to take emergency patients if they can. No insurance is not an excuse to turn them away. They will give her the same treatment as if she had insurance, and try to help her find some way to pay. I went through this with my brother-in-law who had a bleeding ulcer.
I am surprised they asked about a flu shot for someone who was probably not in a high risk group.

An unemployed friend of our youngest adult son broke her arm last evening. It was a compound fracture of both bones of the forearm requiring surgical placement of steel plates. She has no medical insurance.

First thing she was asked was if she had had her flu shot and since she hadn't she was strongly encouraged to have one.

I am actually surprised she was given medical care at all although she did have to sit in the emergency room from midnight until 9 am before being prepped for surgery.

I suppose in such a situation most any of us would be willing to 'take the chip' or 'shot' to be relieved of the agony we find ourselves having to endure.

esbee,

With the new National health Care System that will not be a problem, because everyone will be required to have a an RFID chip in their arm to recieve health care.

Unfortunately I wish that was a joke but if fear not. NJ did the pilot study two years ago. The Goobermint couldn't ged real ID to stick so I think this will be the "compromise"

If you want a job, you must pee in a bottle, if you want healthcare you must wear the mark of the beast...

This is what NAIS and GMO foods and all those tax-payer paid for micro-managed govt so-called "caring for us" programs will be like and heck, we need a laugh, however sarcastic!

Medicare Coverage in a Nutshell:

The phone rings and the lady of the house answers, "Hello."

"Mrs. Ward, please."

"Speaking."

"Mrs. Ward, this is Doctor Jones at the Medical Testing Laboratory. When your doctor sent your husband's biopsy to the lab yesterday, a biopsy
from another Mr. Ward arrived as well, and we are now uncertain which one is your husband's. Frankly the results are either bad or terrible."

"What do you mean?" Mrs. Ward asks nervously.

"Well, one of the specimens tested positive for Alzheimer's, and the other one tested positive for AIDS. We can't tell which is your
husband's."

"That's dreadful! Can't you do the test again?" questioned Mrs.Ward.

"Normally we can, but Medicare will only pay for these expensive tests one time."

"Well, what am I supposed to do now?"

"The people at Medicare recommend that you drop your husband off somewhere in the middle of town. If he finds his way home ............don't sleep with him."
