Check out our new webpage about the destruction NAIS will wreak upon the Equine industry:

link

Then e-mail all the members of the House and Senate Agriculture Committee, especially House Ag Chairman, Collin Peterson, who hopes to have the combined bill ready for a vote by February 18. Don't put it off. Every comment is critical.
Contact your state legislators and tell them you DON't want NAIS in your state.

There's still time, but not much.

My husband and I have raised registered Arabian horses for many years. As a result of the Senate version of the 2007 Farm Bill, all NAIS registrants will have their information subject to the Freedom of Information Act. Any terrorist or vindictive neighbor could find out plenty just by asking under FOIA. In the meantime, NAIS, because it will be imposed by registries, as per the NAIS Business Plan, will be putting us out of the equine industry within the year just because I have no interest in letting my horses become part of "the national herd." Gee, that sounds like the Russian Revolution of 1917, when everything became owned BY THE PEOPLE. Yeah, right... Registries by complying with NAIS will spell the end of equine. Thanks, Mike Johannes. Hope you lose the Congressional seat you abandoned USDA to seek. Thanks, Chuck Connor, who inherited the title of USDA Secretary as the heir apparent.

Cathy McMorris, current Pro-NAIS Congresswoman of WA state is having a "Kickoff Luncheon" as she is running for office again this year. The Luncheon will be in Colville, WA, where we have already held 3 NAIS protests. We would like to hold signs outside the Luncheon to let people know she is a staunch Pro-NAISer and not to vote for her again. She is also Pro Horse Slaughter Export(Which is the reason NAIS includes horses) and is also Pro Wild Horse Slaughter. I have not heard back yet as to her position on Real ID(RFID), but I'm sure she is pro everything RFID as that is the undercurrent in Govt.
If you would like to help me bring awareness to her supporters, as to what she stands for and why we are not voting for her, you can join me outside the Luncheon on Monday May 15th at the Stevens County Fair and Expo Center, located at 317 Astor, in Colville
from 11:00am-2:00pm
Bring your signs and flyers.

I noticed the Indian petition link on your site appears to be a special interest group of dog owners/breeders and doesn't have any connection to NAIS. Their petition would lead me to believe they raise dogs that are commonly considered dangerous. I have inadvertantly been on the receiving end of an unprovoked Pit Bull attack and also a deranged Great Dane. I would never support their petition.

[I read their petition and it looks reasonable. They are asking that breeds not be pre-judged. There are safe and dangerous individual animals of all breeds. If the government starts telling us we can't have this or that breed then the end is they will control what little we can have if any at all. -WJ]

April 14 meeting at Montpelier State House: E-911 was present sharing info pertaining to 911 being available for NAIS ..911 "jealously guards" their system and "nothing enables us to do so in our statute" and are "opposed to the use of"..so at the moment a state agency cannot ask for a 911 address. A bit of discussion about 'location' address compared to 'mailing ' address- seems with the GPS (Global Positioning System) we can find anyone, any address (including the color of your toilet paper)!! Apparently, reflecting on the Tuesday meeting at State House where 60 or so people gave testimony, there is "tremendous misinformation" out there..and education is the key. State Vet and Vermont Dept of Agriculture attended. They do not want to know when animals move off the land or when people sell or buy animals but want to educate for "when it appears". Not if but when. And "How can we educate people if we don't know where they are?" An illuminating comment came towards the end of this brief, mish-mash meeting: perhaps we should "spend as much time enhancing milk prices as we do bird flu".

One of the best ways to accomplish getting change is to attend every meeting possible, use info here at NONAIS.ORG and then get people to DownsizeDC to take action. Be sure and click the background box at top of downsizedc.org which features referral to NoNais.org since it is the best source of info along with StopAnimalID.org and Mary Zaoni's work among others. Go armed with facts and get people informed and active and the changes will occur. Here is the link to USDA INC. you are right a must know for all citizens.

Everyone, you need to look at the USDA, as (USDA.inc.), the Agri-Biz corporation of Govi-Biz.inc.

There is still time (this year),for You,(the majority share holders, called taxpayers, consumers, farmers) and proponents of fair, safe, and sustainable food system, called the "Americans", to get involved and labor for a change called "NoNAIS."

"We the People" need to NOW, replace the "de facto" board of Agri-Biz, industry-friendly directors in USDA.inc. with representatives from all appropriate realms of agriculture life. Known as the independent farmer/producer constituencies and NoNAIS people.

It is "NOW the TIME" for You to initiate a Shareholder revolt at "USDA.inc."
